CFTC research program was suspended after CME complained

A series of research papers led CME Group to become concerned that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission had illegally shared sensitive data as part of a program that allowed visiting academics to conduct research at the regulator, according to a letter from the exchange to the CFTC. The regulator suspended the program and began an investigation, which to date has turned up no violation, the CFTC says.
