Engineer owns up to insufficient skepticism over 787 battery system

Boeing may have relied too much on the experience of its battery supplier in testing the 787's flawed lithium-ion battery system, said Mike Sinnett, a chief project engineer at Boeing. "In retrospect, we may apply tighter test criteria or seek to understand test criteria a little more," Sinnett said at a hearing by the National Transportation Safety Board.
