Expert: There is more to wellness success than cost savings

Lower health care spending is not the only measure of success for employee wellness programs but company officials often fail to see other types of payoffs that may not be reflected in a financial analysis, according to University of Southern California professor John Boudreau. He says human resources experts who can assess measures such as capability, opportunity and motivation should work with company finance staff to bring "soft" outcomes into the wellness analysis.
