Lawmakers clash over wind-energy PTC

Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., and Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., fought over the wind-energy Production Tax Credit during a panel discussion Wednesday in Washington, D.C. Pompeo said the PTC is giving the wind industry an unfair advantage over other forms of energy, but Stabenow countered that the oil and natural gas industry has been enjoying its own tax incentives for nearly a century. "We've been picking winners for 100 years," Stabenow told Pompeo, referring to the tax breaks for the oil industry.
