Listeria in deli food to be discussed by FDA, FSIS in public meeting

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service and the FDA will conduct a public meeting in Washington, D.C., on May 22 to talk about the draft risk assessment on Listeria monocytogenes in foods prepared in retail delicatessens. "Presentations at the public meeting will address listeriosis in the United States; the background, scope, purpose and findings of the draft risk assessment; and the request for public comments," the FDA said in a press release.
