McCaul writing own cybersecurity bill with DHS focus

Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, says he is putting together a cybersecurity bill that addresses the role the Department of Homeland Security would have in providing cyberthreat information to private companies. Privacy groups criticized the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, but Mr. McCaul says his measure is receiving their praise. Jennifer Martinez writes that while privacy groups viewed a CISPA amendment by Mr. McCaul as a positive step, "they said it did not go far enough to quell their concerns about CISPA's impact on the public's civil liberties."
