Mhealth initiative to boost rural providers' access to clinical resources

A mobile health initiative is being launched in southwestern Louisiana to address health problems experienced by people in four rural parishes affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil rig disaster in 2010. The initiative, being launched through the partnership of Physicians Interactive and the Teche Action Board, will give community health professionals access to mobile clinical resources through Physicians Interactive's Skyscape application. The initiative is expected to improve the way the professionals offer preventive and primary care to patients.
