More brokers selling voluntary products, survey finds

A new study finds that almost 90% of broker survey respondents are now selling at least some voluntary products, and most of the remaining 11% say they will soon start. Respondents indicated the Affordable Care Act played a role in the shift. Many brokers are also turning to nontraditional voluntary benefits –- such as wellness programs, discount health plans and identity theft coverage –- to further build up their product portfolios.
