Opinion: Advisers should target rank-and-file employees

Financial advisers should extend their retirement-planning services beyond high-net-worth individuals to include rank-and-file employees with 401(k) plans, writes Warren Hersch. Such clients require an adviser's expertise and may bring profitable referrals, he writes. Hersch also suggests that employers should take a more "parental" approach to employee retirement planning by including appointments with an adviser.
