Report: Gaming consoles are losing out to smartphones, tablets

More consumers will pay for games on mobile devices than gaming consoles by the end of the year, the IDC research firm predicts in a report that forecasts global trends through 2017. IDC calls for total revenues derived from smartphone and tablet gaming to reach $23 billion in four years. The firm said Android is becoming a massively popular gaming platform in the Asia-Pacific region.
