Retailers are frequent target of data breaches, report says

Retailers and restaurants were the victim of nearly a quarter of data breaches last year, according to a report from Verizon Enterprise Solutions. Weak or stolen passwords were a factor in three-quarters of attacks, while malicious software was involved in 40% of cases. The report also says point-of-sale terminals were a major place for attack.
