Study: Claims are fewer for cars with crash-avoidance systems

The rate of filing of auto insurance claims involving certain Volvo vehicles with crash-avoidance technologies is lower than for cars that have no such features, according to a study by the Highway Loss Data Institute. Insurance information reflects "fairly consistent benefits" for vehicles that have forward-collision-warning systems and other systems designed to help prevent collisions, the group's Matthew Moore said.
