CEA-led program boosted electronics recycling in 2012

Under the eCycling Leadership Initiative, led by the Consumer Electronics Association, about 585 million pounds of electronics were recycled in 2012, up 27% from 2011 and a 95% gain compared with 2010. CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro said, "Electronics recycling is a national issue and merits a national approach. CEA continues to push for a national solution for eCycling to eliminate the costly patchwork of state regulations."
