Facebook is the Arab world's favorite social network

Web users in eight Arab countries are voracious consumers of social media, spending an average of 3.2 hours a day on social networks, a survey indicates. Facebook is the dominant player in the surveyed countries -- Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates -- used by 94% of social media users, while Google+ and Twitter are used by 46% and 52% of respondents, respectively. Just 6% of those surveyed use LinkedIn, perhaps reflecting Arab countries' more informal business culture.
