FWS map will help wind-power developers, expert says

A map created by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service showing areas where wind projects are at risk of avian strikes would benefit developers, said Kathy Matthews, a biologist who helped develop the map. The map indicates the areas where proposed wind projects would get more scrutiny from regulators, potentially saving developers time and money in the planning phase, Matthews said.
