How to end a business contract

If you sign a business contract and later have regrets, you might be able to get out of it if you act quickly, Brett Snider writes. "Many states have 'cooling-off' laws which allow for cancellation of a contract if it is done within a certain timeframe, such as within three days (72 hours) of signing," he writes. Otherwise, ask the other party to cancel the contract; they might accept to maintain feelings of goodwill. If they refuse, you can breach the contract provided that you are ready to deal with the consequences.
