Moorman urges policies that spur investment in rail

Railroads play an important role in the U.S. economy, and the creation of "clear" and "fair" policies that spur more investment in rail is a necessity, said Norfolk Southern CEO Wick Moorman at a hearing of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee's Special Panel on 21st Century Freight Transportation. "Industries, jobs and taxes want to go where the railroad is," Moorman said. "Privately owned railroads are not only a barometer of the economy, but an essential element in solving this country's freight transportation problems."
