OECD: Home-control devices to propel Internet of Things

The number of connected devices in the average American family household will grow by a factor of five over the next decade, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which says demand for smart appliances and home-control solutions will help drive the surge. The OECD estimates that a home with two teenage children will have about 50 Internet-connected devices by 2022, compared with about 10 today.
