Overprotective parents can put their children at risk of being bullied

U.K. researchers reviewed 70 studies involving 200,000 children and found a greater risk of being bullied among those with overprotective parents. When parents shield their children from all negative experiences, they prevent them from dealing with bullies, increasing their vulnerability, study author Dieter Wolke said. The findings appear in the journal Child Abuse and Neglect.
