Rail becoming a permanent fix for oil transport, says Mongeau

Crude-by-rail shipping is becoming more popular as energy companies begin to embrace it as a permanent transport solution instead of a short-term trend, said Canadian National CEO Claude Mongeau. "For North America I believe it's a tectonic shift that's happening," Mongeau said. "We're only in the third or fourth inning in terms of railroads becoming a complementary niche player to the pipeline industry."
