Report: U.S. Hispanics made fewer restaurant trips in 2012

Hispanic consumers cut their restaurant visits 1% last year, driven in large part by higher unemployment, but new offerings had them spending more per visit, according to NPD Group. "U.S. Hispanics are an increasingly important customer base for the foodservice industry -- they made some 9.6 billion visits in 2012 and spent $63 billion," said analyst Bonnie Riggs.
