S.D. students petition for Native American song at graduation

Students from South Dakota's Chamberlain School District, where the Native-American student population is as high as 50%, have circulated petitions asking the school board to include a special Native American song in their graduation ceremonies. While some other districts with similar demographics have added songs to their ceremonies, some officials have said they prefer to maintain their traditional graduation ceremony content, and that the local Native American Club holds a separate ceremony to honor Native American students.
