Survey: Most Americans know homeowners coverage excludes flooding

Most Americans polled by BankRate.com said they are aware that damage from flooding is typically excluded in homeowners insurance, but many have not bought flood coverage. "This is a classic 'do as I say, not as I do' situation. The vast majority of Americans know the key facts about flood insurance, but they haven't taken the necessary steps to protect their homes," said BankRate.com's Doug Whiteman.
