Among diabetes patients who've had gastric bypass surgery, weight regained after the surgery was not linked to diabetes remission, according to a study presented at the annual meeting of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. Researchers found that patients with longer diabetes duration and insulin use were at an increased risk of diabetes recurrence after remission.
