Spanish retailers' huge price reductions add to deflation threat

Zara, Cortofiel and other clothing retailers in Spain are in a fierce battle over prices that is adding to a deflation threat as the country faces its worst recession in a generation. "These reductions are part of our strategy to face up to the economic crisis," said Ignacio Sierra, the corporate area director for Cortofiel.
