A rising star may be a great manager or a top strategist, but an employee will never make it to the top without the ability to project a leadership presence, writes John Baldoni. Presence is the ability to inspire people through authority and example -- and it's the ability that separates middle-of-the-road managers from true star performers, Baldoni argues. "Presence is projection not simply of power, but of sincerity, values and conviction," he writes.
