Military expands drone use in Yemen

The U.S. military is now launching drone strikes against suspected al-Qaida operatives in Yemen under a new directive approved by President Barack Obama, U.S. officials say. The directive gives the Central Intelligence Agency and Joint Special Operations Command authority to launch strikes even when the identities of those who could be killed are uncertain.
