Antimicrobials are safe, chicken council says

The National Chicken Council says antimicrobials in chicken-processing facilities are safe "for poultry products, for consumers and for those working in the plant" when used correctly and in federally recommended amounts. The industry group was responding to a Washington Post article linking antimicrobials to respiratory problems in plant workers and inspectors.
