Conn. council to OK used fuel storage plan for Millstone plant

The Connecticut Siting Council is expected to approve Dominion Resources' plan to expand the used nuclear fuel storage capacity of its Millstone nuclear plant in Connecticut. Under the proposal, used fuel from deep water pools at the plant's Unit 1 reactor would be transferred to dry containers. "I would love to see an alternative, but now, there is no right answer until the state or federal government decides they're going to take over care of waste storage," said First Selectman Dan Steward.
