A draft bill unveiled by a bipartisan group of senators seeks to modify used nuclear fuel management policies in the U.S. The measure would authorize the movement of used fuel at nuclear plants to interim storage sites and also recommends the establishment of a separate agency to handle used fuel management concerns. "Our country can't wait any longer to find a long-term solution for disposing of nuclear waste. I am encouraged that Senators [Dianne] Feinstein, [Lamar] Alexander, [Lisa] Murkowski and I have been able to have such thoughtful and productive discussions about finding a way forward," said Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.
