Fat is hot in plastic surgery

Autologous fat transfer is becoming more common in breast reconstruction, facial rejuvenation and other procedures as studies confirm its safety, plastic surgeons said at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery annual meeting. Recent advances in fat removal were on display at the meeting, including a targeted, saline-based system that liquefies fat and does not require forceful thrusting of a cannula.
