FTC antitrust expert nominated for "regulatory czar" position

Lawyer, economist and antitrust expert Howard Shelanski has been nominated by President Barack Obama to be administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, a position known informally as regulatory czar. Shelanski is currently at the Federal Trade Commission, where he and other economists analyze competition issues along with consumer protection.
