Teenage girls reportedly are using social media to avoid the potential embarrassment of having a friend turn up at the prom wearing the same dress as them. After picking a dress, girls rush to Twitter and Facebook to post pictures, along with strongly worded warnings to friends not to buy similar gowns, says Betsy Fast of Seventeen magazine.
