House Judiciary Committee to focus on changes to copyright laws

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., is promising hearings on copyright law to protect intellectual property posted online. "The Internet has enabled copyright owners to make available their works to consumers around the world but has also enabled others to do so without any compensation for copyright owners," Goodlatte said. Radio airplay performance royalties were not mentioned but could be part of the discussion, Dave Seyler writes.
