An eye-catching package design is a smart investment for products of all types, writes Ted Mininni, president of design consultancy firm Design Force. Good marketing strategies recognize that shoppers are more visual than verbal and reinforce a logo and look through advertising and packaging. Monster, for example, is better recognized for its neon-green slashed "M" than for its "Unleash the Beast" slogan.
