More Americans are open to donating a kidney to a stranger

A national survey by the Mayo Clinic found that almost 50% of people say they would consider giving a kidney to a stranger, up from 24% in 2001. Eighty-four percent of respondents said they would consider donating a kidney or a part of their liver to a close friend or relative.
