PhRMA backs data collection for drug take-back programs

PhRMA expressed support for the gathering of data on drugs received by take-back programs. The DEA has proposed a rule that jeopardizes such research by limiting the handling of collected drugs to law enforcement personnel. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, wrote a letter saying that letting researchers gather information about the collected drugs is important for making policy decisions that combat waste.
