Problems with materials cause roof to leak at U.K. rail station

The roof of the Newport Railway Station in Wales, U.K., was designed to give it a "bubble-wrap" appearance, but leaks have sprung due to "interface issues" with the material used. The roof is comprised of 31 air-filled cushions made from polymer ethylene tetrafluoroethylene. The contractors are already addressing the problem, which has become "embarrassing" because the facility had been renovated less than three years ago.
