Q1 construction activity in NYC area rises 13.7% YoY

Public construction activity in the New York City area, which includes Long Island and Northern New Jersey, was up 27.1% in the first quarter of 2013 compared with the year-ago level, according to a BidClerk survey. In total, activity increased 13.7% in the quarter compared to last year, with the "total value of contracts actively bidding" worth $3.8 billion, according to BidClerk survey.
