Senate approves bill to halt FAA furloughs

The U.S. Senate has passed a bipartisan bill that seeks to end the furloughs of air traffic controllers that began Monday and that have led to flight delays at airports across the country. The measure allows the Federal Aviation Administration to transfer $253 million from other accounts to stop the furloughs and also the closures of control towers at smaller airports.
