Virtualization falls short on interoperability, report finds

Businesses are increasingly turning to virtualization to eliminate costly hardware needs, but a new report finds the emerging technology still lacks the portability many companies are seeking. The Open Data Center Alliance found that while the industry is making progress on advancing interoperability between virtual machines running on different hypervisors, in 34 cases tested, only two VMs were able to operate without flaws across two distinct platforms.
