Why 2-factor authentication is drawing more fans

The hacking of an Associated Press Twitter account is driving a renewed push to incorporate two-factor authentication, as is Verizon's 2013 data-breach report that identifies single authentication as a big reason for security breaches. But not everyone is thrilled with two-factor approaches or convinced they will help stem security attacks. "Better authentication can't hurt security, but it isn't a panacea for our larger computer crime issues, despite the legions who appear to believe that 2FA alone can save them," InfoWorld's Roger Grimes wrote in an earlier article.
