Wine investors hire geologist to find perfect terroir

Geology professor Kevin Pogue has turned a hobby of searching for the best terroirs in Walla Walla, Wash., into a lucrative side business finding wine investors the perfect plot of land to plant a vineyard. "I like to drink wines that don’t taste like every other wine, that have some unique character to them,” Pogue said. "I think it’s more exciting when that character comes from the ground and not the person who made it."
