Canadian cancer center promised funding for cyclotron

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff said his party would commit $4 million for the set-up of an isotope-producing cyclotron at the cancer center in Thunder Bay, Ontario -- the same amount pledged by Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper in the proposed 2011 budget. The total cost for the cyclotron would reach $10 million. Another $4 million would be provided by the province, while $2 million would come from local sources.
