HIMSS releases definitions of "meaningful use" of EHR systems

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society introduced two definitions of "meaningful use" when considering EHR systems for certification. HIMSS officials say among the attributes of meaningful EHR technology are the capabilities for e-prescribing and exchanging electronic records to improve patient care.
