Dealers oppose FASB's derivatives proposal

Banks are voicing opposition to a proposal from the Financial Accounting Standards Board that would require most derivatives and repurchase agreements to be reported on a gross basis. The proposal, dealers say, would bulk up their balance sheets and misrepresent their risk exposure.
