What if you could target your online ads so they reached only residents of certain cities, fans of specific bands or professionals with given job titles? Facebook and LinkedIn provide that sort of targeting, and paid ads can integrate nicely with other social media efforts, Peter Wylie writes. As for Twitter, despite its huge audience, it's not yet a viable option for small-business ads, Wylie writes.
