100 autogas school buses to roll out in Conn. cities

The Connecticut cities of Torrington and Shelton will deploy 40 and 60 propane autogas-fueled school buses, respectively, in a bid to save cash and help the environment. Chelsea Jenkins, a Roush CleanTech representative, said propane autogas burns cleaner than diesel and gasoline and is domestically produced. Lee Grannis of the Clean Cities Coalition added that the use of propane autogas vehicles in the U.S. is "growing on its own without any government subsidies."
