Adviser's help is key to retirement planning, study finds

Help from a financial adviser, a commitment to saving and the availability of an employer-sponsored savings plan are the most important factors in successful retirement planning, according to a study by Putnam Investments. Investors who use an adviser are likely to replace 80% of income after retirement, while those without an adviser are on track to replace 56%, the study found.
