Calif. city council panel advances ban on high-capacity magazines

The Los Angeles City Council's public-safety committee has voted unanimously to advance a measure that would make high-capacity ammunition magazines illegal, after similar legislation was rejected in Congress. The full City Council is expected to vote on the measure this week.
